Our Prayer
Life The eternal God has revealed Himself in
Jesus as Emmanuel, God-with-us. He surrounds us with His
presence, enfolding us in His faithful love. He has called us by
name; in prayer we respond to Him and praise His goodness. With
Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, we can address Him intimately, "Abba,
Father."
In our striving to live in God's presence and to find Him in all
things, we place all our trust in Him.
Times of encounter with the Lord in prayer are indispensable in
our religious life. Only in union with Him will our work be
fruitful, for without Him we can do nothing.
As members of the Body of Christ, we participate in liturgical
prayer which the Church continually offers to the Father through
Christ as a sacrifice of praise.
The Eucharist is the life and center of our community. Jesus
draws us more deeply into the mystery of His life, death, and
resurrection as we offer ourselves with Him to the Father in the
Eucharistic sacrifice and in daily adoration.
In the communal celebration of the liturgical hours, we are
united with the prayer of the Church, praising God in His glory,
giving Him thanks for His love, and bringing our petitions
before Him.
We dispose ourselves for a contemplative experience of God's
love through personal communion with Him in daily mental prayer.
By yielding to the action of the Holy Spirit living and praying
in us, we gradually become transformed into Christ who is for us
the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Through spiritual reading, especially Sacred Scripture, we
nourish our life of prayer. In faith we open ourselves to the
Spirit of God so that He may enlighten us to penetrate Christian
truths ever more deeply.
As Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, we honor Mary with special
love and devotion. She who was totally dedicated to God, open
for His word, and ready to fulfill His will, is a model for our
prayer life. Particularly on the feasts of Mary, which we
joyfully celebrate with the Church, we praise God for the graces
He has given to the Mother of His Son. In our daily praying of
the rosary, we contemplate the mystery of Christ's redeeming
mission in which Mary participates in a unique way.
In our daily examen, a time for personal discernment and
renewal, we reflect on our response to God's action and His
gifts in our life. We celebrate God's forgiving love in the
sacrament of reconciliation.
Our community grants us time for annual and monthly spiritual
renewal. In prayer and solitude we allow ourselves to be
penetrated anew with the spirit of Jesus Christ that we may come
to see the deeper meaning of our human experiences.
